Heatley Deal to Oilers On Hold, For Now

Posted by admin on July 1st, 2009

The first thing you should know is that the Dany Heatley trade to Edmonton is not officially dead. At least not yet.

I don’t really see this Edmonton deal going through, and Ottawa is lucky it won’t. Dustin Penner is way overpaid, and is just gonna eat up cap space. I see the Gomez trade as a move by the Rangers to acquire some young guys to trade and clear cap space to make this deal. They really want Heatley, and Sather is good at getting what he wants. I can see Heatley in New York as early as today.
