If you want yardsticks, the San Jose Sharks are as good as any you’ll find at Rona. And while they’re at the hardware store, the Canucks may as well pick up some sandpaper, too.
They could use the grit.
The Sharks, best team in the NHL at the moment, gave the Canucks a lesson Sunday night in team toughness and secondary scoring — beating the hosts 4-2 at GM Place.

As good omens go, things started well, Kyle Wellwood using Tanner Glass as a decoy to beat Evgeni Nabokov on the far side at 1:59 of the first period.
But the Canucks had no more answers for the Sharks’ goalie — although Wellwood fed Jannik Hansen with seven seconds left in the game for the Canucks’ second goal — while the Sharks had plenty of answers of their own.
